What steps to expect during a psychological evaluation:

1. Paperwork & Insurance Verification: Add your insurance information to the Alma portal for verification. Complete all intake paperwork , including consent forms, practice policies etc.

2. Initial appointment: Complete an initial intake appointment with Dr. Rial. Following the meeting Dr. Rial will create an individualized testing plan and cost estimate.

3. Cost Estimate: Review, review, and sign the cost estimate.

4. Evaluation Appointments: Each evaluation appointment can last anywhere from 1 to 4 hours at a time. Oftentimes, more than one evaluation appointment is needed to answer the client’s testing questions.

5. Collateral Questionnaires or Consultation(s): With the client’s written consent, Dr. Rial may recommend sending questionnaires to teachers or other caregivers, or consulting with other clinical providers (therapists, psychiatrists etc.) involved in the client’s care.

6. Feedback Appointment(s): 1-2 weeks following the last evaluation appointment, Dr. Rial will meet with you to discuss the findings and individualized recommendations.

7. Final Written Report: the final written report will be delivered by email or secure portal 2-3 weeks following the last evaluation appointment.
