Therapy for Children, Parents, Teens, and Adults

Therapy is for anyone and everyone who wants to gain more clarity about themselves, their experiences, or the challenges they face.

I’m passionate about working with children, teens, parents and adults. I work collaboratively with each client to empower them with a deeper understanding of themself, their experiences, the values they want to live by, and the tools that they can use to thrive in their everyday life.

I offer both video and in-person appointments.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a treatment approach designed to help individuals manage impulsive behaviors, intense emotional ups and downs, self-harm behaviors or suicidal thoughts, as well as improve relationships. It teaches a combination of skills, such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and relationship effectiveness skills. DBT is an evidence-based model that has been shown to effectively help children, adolescents, and adults cope with life's many challenges.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely-used psychological treatment that helps individuals better understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Through CBT, individuals will learn to identify ineffective or problematic thought or behavior patterns and learn tools for correcting or challenging them to be more effective, and ultimately improve emotional well-being.

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a specialized form of CBT designed to help children, adolescents, and their families process and recover from traumatic experiences. TF-CBT aims reduce symptoms of trauma, teach healthier coping strategies, and improve overall emotional functioning.

  • Mindfulness practice emphasizes cultivating present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of one’s thoughts and feelings. These techniques and principles have become more frequently integrated into school programs and therapeutic interventions because research suggests they can significantly enhance mental well-being.

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention designed to improve the quality of the parent-child relationship and address behavioral issues in young children and preteens. Through structured sessions, parents learn effective communication and positive reinforcement techniques, fostering secure attachment and reducing disruptive behaviors.

  • Basic Psychological Needs Theory (BPNT), a component of Self-Determination Theory, posits that humans, across cultures and backgrounds, have three fundamental needs—autonomy (agency), competence, and relatedness (meaningful connection)—that must be satisfied for optimal psychological growth and well-being. When these needs are met, individuals experience greater motivation, improved well-being, and overall life satisfaction.

  • Psychodynamic Theory suggests that our behavior and the roadmap we use to navigate our relationships, problems, and our world is shaped (informed) by our life experiences. by exploring those life experiences, an individual can better understand their motivations, drives, thought and behavior patterns. Increased awareness allows a person to identify strategies they learned to resolve or manage past conflicts. Sometimes strategies that were effective in past conflicts are unconsciously reused or applied in less effective, or even, problematic ways in the present.

  • Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) is a parent-based program designed to help reduce anxiety symptoms in children by equipping parents with the tools to change behavior patterns in the home that may unintentionally reinforce anxiety symptoms in children. The program teaches parents skills to support their child's independence and confidence while minimizing problematic patterns of behavior.
